We were hoping to find someone who could fix the CAT 5 connection and help with software upgrades and chart installation so we had determined to stay in Atlantic City for a couple of days. Then, after looking at the weather report, we could see that waiting until May 7 to head up the coast to Manasquan would be the prudent thing to do.
We had no luck finding a marine electronics person who wasn’t already booked many days out so gave up on that. It was time to head to the Atlantic City Boardwalk and see this for the first time. It turned out the Boardwalk was interesting but people watching was even more fascinating. We spent most of the day there just moseying along and glad we were not at sea as the wind was blowing like stink.
After lunch at Margaritaville (why is there one here?) we wandered around in Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino and then headed for the Jitney for our ride home. It turns out we were the only ones on the bus so talked to the driver asking if there was a grocery store along the way. He stopped in front of one and actually waited for us to go in a make a couple of purchases. Nice!
After we returned to the boat we got a text from Anne inviting us to celebrate Bill’s 62nd birthday in the Asian restaurant at the Golden Nugget. This we did and a good time was had by all. This was the third time in an Atlantic City casino and we had not wagered a dime.
