The wind picked up overnight 10-15 mph from the west and the marina had no effective protection from this direction as we were rocking all over the place. It appeared the wooden “break water” knocked the tops off of the waves but the surge came right on through.
This did not appear to be a good day to get out of the marina or to go up river so we decided to stay put until the wind died down. We grabbed a cab with Tom and went to the North Metro train station where we caught a train to Grand Central Station in New York City, about an hours ride. Vicki got to spend time shopping at Lord and Taylors and once she got her shopping fill it was back on the train to Croton on Hudson. We walked to ShopRite and then called a cab to haul our groceries.
When we got back to the boat it was still rocking and rolling. We had leftover pizza and then early to bed.
