We had 11.4 nm to travel before we hit Percy Reach Lock and wanted to get there prior to the opening time of 0900 so we left lock 7 at 0700. We arrived in time and entered the lock alone. We continued to lock alone through lock 12 about 16.1 nm up the Trent River and Canal system. What a beautiful day. The water was like glass and we were blessed with a blue sky.
We pulled in to the town of Campbellford and moored on the city wall. Sonata had continued on yesterday when we pulled over at lock 7 and they ended up at Campbellford. They like it so much they had decided to stay another night. We ran around the town visiting Canadian Tire, a café for Poutine, the grocery store and then picked up some ice for the YETI. Then it was off up the river again for five more locks. We pulled over at the top end of Healey Falls Lock 17 and moored on the wall for another night of solitude mooring all alone with no other boats even passing by.
By now we had traveled 36.5 miles up the Trent-Severn through 17 locks and climbed 359.4 feet from our starting elevation. We still have 237.7 ft. to climb before reaching our highest elevation but that change will take about 121 more miles to accomplish.
