We were only going to run 10 miles today so messed around doing chores and didn’t get off the dock until 0915. The passage was all in De Tour Channel and the west wind fetch was short as the channel runs north and south. Swells from Lake Huron were coming up the channel though so we went up and down on those.
The De Tour State Marina has very nice facilities. We walked into the little town and had lunch at a pub. I ordered a Buritto and got the biggest and best tasting Buritto I had ever had in my life. It was the size of a plate and probably three inches thick. Not expecting this I had ordered fries with it. Mistake. The fries were good but way too much food. We went to the local grocery store to replenish the larder after having used up many things in order to clear customs.
It began raining as we got back to the boat so we took naps and waited for it to stop. It never did so I put on my swim trunks and a T-shirt and went out in the rain to scrub the entire exterior of the boat. It had bug poop and stuck bugs all over it as well as normal travel dirt gathered primarily as we went through the narrow canals along the way.
It never did stop raining but Vicki made a great dinner of corn on the cob, pork chops and a baked potato so we made it through the evening just fine.
