August 28, 2015 – Friday – Chicago – No travel

We had a lazy morning and then decided to walk downtown Chicago. First we covered quite a bit of ground along the River Walk that gave us a view of where we would be cruising when we got started on the CSSC. We asked natives where a good spot for lunch would be but eventually ended up at McCormick and Schmick’s. It was good to get off our feet for awhile.

Following lunch we decided to walk the Magnificent Mile as Vicki wanted to do some “shopping”. This street is quite the attraction as every major high end chain store in the country is there. We did a little “shopping” and checked out the people and scenery. This street has very nice landscaping all along with an occasional street musician. Noticeable was the Chicago police standing here and there and everywhere.

By the time we made it back to the boat our feet were dragging. We recouped a little and then the McFall’s came over with Sammy, the dog, and we visited for a couple of hours. Vicki made another great dinner and thus ended the first full day of “doing Chicago”.
