October 9, 2015 – Friday – Florence Harbor Marina – No travel

Morning weather was good so, in anticipation of all the looper boats coming together in just a few days at Joe Wheeler State Park Marina, I thought it was time to finish cleaning up the spots of paint remaining on the cockpit floor. I put another coat of varnish on the doorframe and then put paint remover on all of the spots of paint and let it set. When ready I scraped and then used a wire brush to get the paint out of the wood grain. After two applications most of the paint is now removed. I just need to find time to thoroughly clean the cockpit floor once again and then to put brightener on it. I hope this will even out the look from where the wood has been scraped. Once again the temperature was in the 90s so it was great to have the air con on inside the cabin. I would work awhile and then go inside to cool down.

We borrowed the marina loaner car once again for a supply run to Walmart. Manãna had come in just prior to this run so we had that crew come with us. Manãna is the boat that is the sister to Mei Wenti.

We coordinated with Sophie Too and Gemini to get off the dock in the morning so we could go through the two locks together.

Night time in Florence Harbor Marina. This "Lighthouse" at the harbor entrance was lit up and changed to every color of the rainbow.
